"Never said India lost to England deliberately" Ben stokes slams former Pakistan cricketer for twisting his words

England all-rounder Ben Stokes penned down a new book titled ‘On Fire,’ which depicts what happened during the 2019 World Cup match between India and England. Most of the fans would remember that India had won the Orange jerseys for the first time that year with the special message being ‘One Day For Children.’

The match had very high stakes. England had suffered a loss to Sri Lanka in the 2019 World Cup, while India was seemingly unstoppable. They were unbeaten in the tournament prior to their match against England. However, the hosts easily defeated them in their group meetings.

In Stokes’ opinion, MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav showed no intent to win the match. He wrote in his book:
"Arguably, the way MS Dhoni played when he came in with 112 runs needed from 11 overs was even stranger. He appeared more intent on singles than sixes. Even with a dozen balls remaining, India could still have won. There was little or no intent from him (Dhoni) or his partner Kedar Jadhav. To me, while victory is still possible you always go for broke,” reported India Today.

"They allowed their team to get so far behind the game. They showed no desire to put any pressure back onto our team, content instead to just drift along, a tactic that was clearly playing into our hands," Stokes added.

Pakistan’s former cricketer Sikandar Bhakt remarked that India deliberately lost that match so that Pakistan crashes out of the tournament. After listening to those comments, a fan asked Ben Stokes about this controversy. The fan asked him on Twitter:

Where has @benstokes38 said that India lost to England deliberately? Can anyone show me?
Stokes preferred to reply to him as he stated that it was click-baiting and misleading. He replied:

You won’t find it cause I have never said it... it’s called “twisting of words” or “clickbait”
