Daren Sammy Picks Between IPL And PSL; Virat Kohli And Steve Smith
Veteran West Indies cricketer Daren Sammy has recently answered few questions of ESPNCricinfo where he revealed some of his favourites. During the talk show, Daren Sammy had to name one between two options given to him by the show host.
He was asked to name his favourite between Virat Kohli and Steven Smith. However, Sammy chose Virat Kohli over Steven Smith. Notably, both are considered as the two best players in world cricket in recent times. Even the Cricket analysts also find it difficult to answer who is the best among their generation. While Virat Kohli has a stunning record in limited-overs’ cricket, former Australia captain Steve Smith has a great record in Test cricket.
Apart from that, Daren Sammy has also answered his favourite league between the Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League. Sammy chose Pakistan Super League instead of Indian Premier League. Although there is no comparison between Pakistan Super League and Indian Premier League as IPL has a huge fan base across the globe. All the star players of World cricket is eager to play in this tournament as it is one of the highly-rated tournaments all over cricket. The league has always tried to become the bridge between International and domestic cricket.
A good season in IPL can change a cricketer and help him to get the recognition too. Although Pakistan Super League has its own fanbase, IPL is much bigger than that.
However, Daren Sammy didn't have a smooth IPL career over the years, d7espite having played for many franchises in this tournament. Moreover, he has not even been regular in the first XI of these teams as well. Meanwhile, his record in PSL is way better than IPL where he has done quite well for his franchise Peshawar Zalmi.
He was also asked to pick one between Brian Lara and Viv Richards. Sammy named Viv Richards for T20 cricket. However, he wants Brian Lara in his team and he was asked to name between 50 overs and 20 overs cricket, he named T20.
However, between batting or bowling, Daren Sammy chose batting over bowling in this case as well. Apart from that, he chose between Joe Root and Kane Williamson where he picked up the New Zealand captain ahead of Joe Root.
