Here's why Ravichandran Ashwin is not playing 2nd Test against England

Team India and England cricket team begin the 2nd Test match of the five-match series today on 12th August at the Lord's cricket ground in London.

Virat Kohli lead India was close to victory in the first Test match with 157 runs requiring on the last day. However, it all went against Virat Kohli and his team as rain completely spoilt the 5th day's play, resulting in a draw.

The toss for the 2nd match began under the same circumstances, with clouds looming above the Lord's cricket ground. England captain Joe Root once again won the toss and opted to bowl this time. 

Indian fans were a little curious, seeing that the experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been left out of the team again. However, the Indian captain Virat Kohli revealed that Ashwin has been left out of the playing eleven for the match due to the pitch condition and the weather condition.

Virat Kohli stated, "We announced 12 within the group, and Ashwin was definitely was part of that. But this (playing Ishant over Ashwin) makes the most sense for us as a team."

The Indian captain also commented about fans being allowed in the match, "With the crowds back in, it's a pleasure to be here. An honor to play in front of crowds."

Talking about the match, as of writing this, the match has been delayed due to rain after the national anthems. The Indian team will be looking to come out at front over England after a near win in the first match didn't turn into reality due to the rain. 

Joe Root lead England team has also been forced to make some changes into the team for the 2nd Test match as Haseeb Hamid, Mark Wood, and Moeen Ali has been brought into the team as a replacement of Crawley, Stuart Broad and Daniel Lawrence.
