Indian Premier League (IPL)'s one of the two new franchise, the Lucknow franchise has reportedly approached Andy Flower and Daniel Vettori to take up the Head Coach position at the new team.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to expand to 10 teams from previous 8 teams in the IPL 2022. Two new teams will enter the competition from Lucknow and from Ahmedabad.

And as per a latest report on Cricbuzz, the Lucknow based franchise has approached the former Zimbabwe cricketer Andy Flower and former New Zealand cricketer Daniel Vettori to be their head coach for the debut season.

The report in Cricbuzz states that Andy Flower is the most likely to get the job as he has a good chemistry with the India international KL Rahul, who is reportedly in talks with the Lucknow franchise to join them as the team's captain.

Andy Flower and KL Rahul worked together with the Punjab Kings team before the former was relieved off his duties. It is being said that both Flower and Rahul recommended each other's name to the Lucknow franchise.

However, according to the same report, the Sanjiv Goenka owned group has been told not make any announcements as of now by the BCCI amid the uncertainties with the CVC Capitals, who have won the bidding for the Ahmedabad franchise.

The CVC Capitals is said to have a connection with a betting company in UK and the BCCI has formed a committee to further investigate on this matter.
