In yet another disappointing development for the Rajasthan Royals team, the squad’s English batsman Liam Livingstone has injured his shoulder. According to Sports Tiger, the Englishman could now miss a few games of the second phase of IPL 2021.

Livingstone suffered this injury while he was playing for Lancashire in the Division 1 County Championship match against Warwickshire on Monday. The Rajasthan Royals star attempted to save a boundary while fielding for Lancashire, but unfortunately, he injured his shoulder.

There is no official update on his injury status, but since the T20 World Cup will follow the Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) might want a 100% fit Liam Livingstone for the global tournament.

Many fans would know that Livingstone performed exceptionally well for the England cricket team in the T20I series against the Pakistan cricket team earlier this year. He broke the record for the quickest century by an English player in T20 international history.

Besides, Livingstone won the Most Valuable Player award in the recently-concluded Men’s Hundred 2021 event. The right-handed batsman scored 348 runs at a brilliant strike rate of 178.46 in Men’s Hundred 2021.

How has Liam Livingstone performed in the Indian Premier League?

Liam Livingstone has played for only Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League so far. He has played four matches for the team, aggregating 70 runs, with his highest score being 44. Livingstone’s strike rate in the IPL is close to 145.

Earlier this year, Livingstone had pulled out of IPL 2021 during the tournament’s first phase owing to personal reasons. He was expected to return to the Rajasthan Royals during the second phase of IPL 2021. However, it seems he might be unavailable for the first few matches due to his shoulder injury now.
