Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in PSL? Mohammad Amir says he would love to bowl against them in the tournament

Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir recently caught up with Cricket Pakistan on YouTube, where he answered several interesting questions. The Pakistani star mentioned that the team management had to take note of Shaheen Afridi’s workload management.

Besides, he also talked about the inclusion of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the PSL. As many cricket fans would know that the Pakistan Super League is the premier T20 tournament of their nation just like the Indian Premier League is in India.

There was a time when even the Pakistani players participated in the IPL. Shahid Afridi played for the Deccan Chargers, while the duo of Kamran Akmal and Younis Khan won the IPL title with the Rajasthan Royals in 2008. Later, Azhar Mahmood played for the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Kings XI Punjab under a British passport.

The BCCI does not allow its active cricketers to participate in the foreign competitions, but Amir stated that he would have loved to bowl against Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the Pakistan Super League.

"We have always said, as players, that cricket, or any other sport, and politics should be kept separate. I love challenges like bowling to top-notch batsmen and it would have been great to bowl to them [Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma]. Be it the IPL or PSL, it would be beneficial for players, from Pakistan and India, playing in these competitions in terms of exposure and quality of cricket,” Mohammad Amir replied.

Mohammad Amir has regularly played in different T20 leagues globally. However, he only gets to play against Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the ICC tournaments. It will be interesting to see if the speedster ever earns an IPL contract. The 2017 Champions Trophy winner will play under Shahid Afridi’s captaincy at the Galle Gladiators in the upcoming LPL 2020.
