5 players SRH might target in IPL Auction if Bhuvneshwar Kumar misses outΒ
The Indian cricket team fans received disappointing news yesterday as they learned that fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out for six months. Bhuvneshwar is one of the best pacers in Indian cricket. However, injuries have derailed his career.
Kumar has repeatedly got injured and lost his place in the Indian team. If he will miss the next six months, it indirectly means that he will not be available for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021. The BCCI has confirmed that the next edition of the IPL would happen in the March-May window only.
So, SRH would have understood that they will have to manage without their premier fast bowler in IPL 2021. The Orange Army has a chance to make up for it by signing a top-quality bowler in the IPL Auction 2021.
Here are five bowlers SRH might target in the mini auction.
#5 Mitchell Starc

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc will likely return to the IPL next year. Many IPL teams would go after him in the auction. However, SRH might end up buying him because Bhuvneshwar Kumar will likely be unavailable.
Starc is a match-winner in all formats. His yorker-bowling skills and swing in the powerplay will trouble the batsmen. Hence, Starc could be an option for SRH.
#4 Mustafizur Rahman

In 2015, he became the first player from Bangladesh to be named in the ICC Men's ODI Team of the Year.

Mustafizur Rahman played for SRH in the past. He is a left-arm fast bowler from Bangladesh who has also won the title for the Emerging Player of the IPL season once.
Rahman did not receive an NOC from BCB to play in IPL 2020. However, he will likely be in the IPL 2021 Auction. SRH could sign their former player and welcome him back to the franchise.
#3 Tim Southee

Tim Southee is one of the few bowlers who has played for RCB, MI, and CSK in IPL. Southee is a veteran player from the New Zealand cricket team.
He has immense experience under his belt. Kane Williamson knows him well and he could insist the SRH management to go after Southee because Kumar would likely sit out this year.
#2 Kulwant Khejroliya

SRH is a franchise that has shown interest in young Indian fast bowlers. They have opted to sign rising stars like Yarra Prithvi Raj, Siddarth Kaul, Basil Thampi, T Natarajan, and Kulwant Khejroliya could be the next name.
Khejroliya is a left-arm medium-fast bowler who has been a part of the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past. He has taken 17 wickets in his T20 career at a great economy rate of 7.49.
#1 KV Sasikanth

Not many fans would know about KV Sasikanth, but he was the most successful bowler for Andhra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019. He is a right-arm medium-pace bowler who took 10 wickets in five matches last year. Since SRH have some big names in the fast bowling unit, Sasikanth can be a handy option with some medium pace. He can turn the game with his wicket-taking skills.
Sasikanth can also bat as well. An excellent performance in the 2020 Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy could help Sasikanth receive his first IPL deal. Sunrisers Hyderabad can then groom him to become a star player in future.
