5 teams that can stop CSK from signing Suresh Raina at IPL Auction 2022
Nicknamed as Mr. IPL, Suresh Raina has not been able to find a place in the list of players retained by the Chennai Super Kings for the first time ever in IPL history. The Chennai Super Kings have retained four players, namely MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
It seems the Chennai Super Kings have not made this decision emotionally but considered the performances. Thus, they have released some of their senior players, including Suresh Raina. The Super Kings will probably try to get Raina back at the auction, but the following five teams may stop them.
1. Ahmedabad team
Ahmedabad will make its IPL debut in 2022. Suresh Raina has a connection with Gujarat, having captained Gujarat Lions before. Ahmedabad could target Raina not just as a player but also as a captaincy option.
2. Delhi Capitals
Suresh Raina stated in one of his interviews that if not CSK, then he would prefer playing for Delhi Capitals. DC have released Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer, so a player like Raina could fit well in the DC squad.
3. Sunrisers Hyderabad
The recent decisions of Sunrisers Hyderabad have disappointed their fans a lot. Signing a player like Suresh Raina can help the team's youngsters and also make the fans happy. Thus, SRH could consider roping Raina in.
4. Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings have retained only two players before IPL Auction 2022. In order to build a champion side, they need to sign players who have won trophies. Suresh Raina is one of them, and he could be an asset for the Mohali-based franchise.
