2 former Mumbai Indians cricketers who might play for the USA in the 2024 T20 World Cup

ICC has confirmed that the 2024 T20 World Cup will be held in West Indies and the United States. Hence, both teams have automatically qualified for the event. Many players from top cricketing nations have already shifted their allegiances to the USA. Some of these players have even played in the Indian Premier League for top franchises. On that note, in this article, we take a look at two former Mumbai Indians cricketers who might play for the USA in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

1) Unmukt Chand - Played for Mumbai Indians between 2015 and 2016

Unmukt Chand is one of the high-profile players who made the shift from their home nations to the USA. The promising cricketer was once seen as the future of Indian cricket. However, he just could not realize his potential. That said, he is doing well in domestic cricket in the USA right now. He is all set to be eligible for 2024 T20 WC for the USA. It would not be a surprise if he turns up against the team that he might have been playing for. In IPL, as well, Unmukt played for teams such as MI and RR but could not leave an impression.

2) Corey Anderson - Played for Mumbai Indians between 2014 and 2016

Corey Anderson became popular after one of his knocks for New Zealand. Mumbai Indians then hired him and Corey did play a few impressive knocks for the five-time champions. The all-rounder has been a part of the USA setup for a while now. Of course, he is not yet eligible to play for the nation. It is likely that the hurdle would be cleared by the 2024 T20 World Cup. Considering the skillset and the experience that the Kiwi has, the USA will be keen to have him on board.
