2 teams that can win the first season of SA20

On January 10th, it is the beginning of a new revolution in South African cricket. The first season of the SA20 League would start, kickstarting a new era in the Rainbow Nation. It was in September that the auctions of the tournament got concluded. While teams got a chance to pick five players before the bidding, recently, franchises also got to make a wildcard pick. It will surely be a close tournament but some teams look great on paper. On that note, in this article, we take a look at two teams that can win the first season of SA20.

1) MI Cape Town

MI Cape Town impressed everyone with its first five picks. They hired Kagiso Rabada, Dewald Brevis, Rashid Khan, Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone to form the core of the unit. Recently, they got Jofra Archer onboard as a wildcard pick. At the auctions, they picked the likes of Rassie van der Dussen and Duan Jansen, who further added strength to the core. Considering all teams will have one flaw or the other, a team with the strongest core might go on to win the trophy. Therefore, MI Cape Town has a solid chance.

2) Paarl Royals

Paarl Royals is one of the two teams that can win the first season of SA20. Like Cape Town, Paarl Royals also has a solid core. They have David Miller, Jos Buttler, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Obed McCoy amongst others. They have a good bowling attack while experienced campaigners such as Jason Roy and Eoin Morgan would add steel to the batting line-up. Hence, this team seems capable of winning the trophy.
