3 Indian players who could be dropped for a long time if they flop in the 2022 T20 World Cup
Team India is in a transition phase and after the 2022 T20 World Cup, we could see a fresh group take over the team. At this juncture, it is crucial for a few players to be in form. If they do not do well at the upcoming event, at least for the moment, the doors could be closed on them. On that note, in this article, we take a look at three Indian players who could be dropped for a long time if they flop in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
1) Harshal Patel
Harshal Patel started his India career well but has looked rusty in recent months. He is looking out of options at the death and is leaking a lot of runs. India has a young pace battery on the bench waiting for chances. Hence, if Harshal does not be at his best, he could lose his spot in Team India. He might also look to work on his variations to offer more to the squad.
2) Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal is also one of the Indian players who could be dropped for a long time if they flop in the 2022 T20 World Cup. There is no doubt that he is India's best leg-spinner but for India, Chahal has not been effective in recent months. Yes, he takes wickets but that is coming at the cost of runs. Ravi Bishnoi is also doing well and might replace Chahal in the XI if the Haryana man does not put up a solid show.
3) Bhuvneshwar Kumar
With Deepak Chahar in good form, Bhuvi must do well outside the powerplay also to claim a place in the XI. Deepak also offers good batting skills and hence, pressure is more on Bhuvi to lead the pace attack well in Australia. If that does not happen, he could be dropped from the squad.
