3 players who were part of Australia's title-winning squad in the 2021 T20 WC but are not selected for the 2022 T20 World Cup

Against a lot of expectations, Australia won the trophy in the 2021 T20 World Cup. It was a team effort that helped the Aussies cross the line. However, surprisingly, within a year, the team has undergone some changes. A few players who won the trophy are not a part of the setup right now. In this article, we take a look at 3 players who were part of Australia's title-winning squad in the 2021 T20 WC but are not selected for the 2022 T20 World Cup.

1) Mitchell Swepson

The 28-year-old leggie mainly got his opportunity in 2021 because the tournament was being held in UAE. However, this time around, the event is happening in Australia, where two genuine spinners might not be needed in the final 15 for the host nation. Australia anyways has the likes of Tim David and Glenn Maxwell who can provide spin overs.

2) Dan Christian

Dan Christian is one of the players who were part of Australia's title-winning squad in the 2021 T20 WC but are not selected for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Following good form in the domestic events, the veteran got a chance in the competition. However, he did not get a lot of opportunities to showcase his skills. Since then, his form has dropped and Australia has found better players for his position. Hence, he was sidelined.

3) Daniel Sams

Sams is still in and around the team but is not selected for the main event. If there is an injury to any seamer, though, he will be the first in line to take the spot in the squad. The bowling all-rounder has been doing well and deserves a consistent run at the highest level. However, with the Aussies having a settled pace unit, that has not happened so far.
