3 players whom Chandrakant Pandit has coached and might target for KKR in IPL 2023
Kolkata Knight Riders appointed Chandrakant Pandit as their new Head Coach, replacing New Zealand's Brendon McCullum. Chandrakant Pandit is a high-profile coach in the Indian domestic circuit, having won trophies with Mumbai, Vidharba and Madhya Pradesh. He is known to get the best out of his cricketers. On that note, in this article, we take a look at three players whom Chandrakant Pandit has coached and might target for KKR in IPL 2023. Usually, coaches might prefer players whom they have worked with and therefore, even Chandrakant Pandit could target some of the cricketers whom he has coached already.
1) Akshay Karnewar - Auction
Akshay Karnewar often does well with his ability to bowl with both arms. Lower down the order, he is also useful with the bat. KKR could target this player, who has been a part of RCB before. In him, KKR would get a lot of flexibility in the bowling attack and also some depth in the batting.
2) Darshan Nalkande (Gujarat Titans) - Trade
Darshan played for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 but Chandrakant Pandit could target him in the trade window. With the likes of Shivam Mavi failing, Darshan Nalkande can be used as the second Indian pacer after Umesh Yadav in the XI. Even Darshan is useful with the bat in the lower order.
3) Yash Dubey - Auction
Yash Dubey scored more than 600 runs in the previous Ranji Trophy season. Yes, he might not have played T20 cricket but Yash is still young and has the ability to adapt himself to the shortest format of the game. KKR needs good top-order players and therefore, they could target someone like Yash.
