6 cricketers who played in the 2016 T20 World Cup final and will also play in the 2022 T20 World Cup final

England has been a dominant white-ball team for a while now. While it reached the semis in the 2016 T20 World Cup, the team won the trophy in the 2019 ODI World Cup. Now, England will play in the finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup. In this article, we take a look at six cricketers who played in the 2016 T20 World Cup final and will also play in the 2022 T20 World Cup final.

The 2016 T20 World Cup final was a tough loss for the Englishmen. They had a lot of runs to defend in the last over but a freak knock by Carlos Braithwaite put them out of the competition. They would want to make amends against Pakistan on Sunday.

1) Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler is one of the six cricketers who played in the 2016 T20 World Cup final and will also play in the 2022 T20 World Cup final. The England skipper played in the middle order back then. He had a good game but the team did not end up as the winner. Now, as the skipper of the squad, he will have better control to go on and lift the trophy.

2) Alex Hales

If not for Jonny Bairstow's injury, Alex Hales would have never been in the England squad. That said, he is one of the most important batters for the squad now. Yet again, he will have an important role to play in the final against Pakistan.

3) Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes is also one of the cricketers who played in the 2016 T20 World Cup final and will also play in the 2022 T20 World Cup final. The all-rounder was the unlucky bowler on that day at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. So far, in the 2022 T20 WC, Stokes has not come into his own. The English fans will hope that he will put up a special performance on Sunday.

4) Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali was there in the 2016 squad and he is still a part of the unit now. Now, he holds a leadership role and will be itching to leave a lasting impact on the finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup.

5) Adil Rashid

Adil Rashid is also a part of this list of cricketers who played in the 2016 T20 World Cup final and will also play in the 2022 T20 World Cup final. Six years is too big a time for a leg-spinner to lead the attack for his country. Rashid has done that and had a vital role to play in the semis. He would want to help his side win the trophy against Pakistan.

6) Chris Jordan

If Mark Wood is not fit, Jordan will play on Sunday. He had a decent game on Sunday and will look to do well in the death overs if he plays in the final. A good performance here could help him cement his place in the England Team for a longer time.
