7 non-English cricketers who could win their 2nd ODI World Cup in 2023

The 2023 ODI World Cup will happen in India. Of course, it is a dream for every cricketer to win this tournament. However, a few players have a chance of winning it more than once. Having won the event in 2019, most of the English cricketers will be looking to add a second winner's medal to their list of accomplishments. In this article, we take a look at seven non-English cricketers who could win their 2nd ODI World Cup in 2023.

Australia won the event in 2015 and before that, it was India in 2011. Hence, a few players from both of these sides will be a part of this list.

1) Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the non-English cricketers who could win their 2nd ODI World Cup in 2023. The former India skipper was a youngster when he won the event in 2011. Now, in what maybe his last World Cup, Virat will want to add another acclaimed medal to his record. R Ashwin was also a part of the squad in 2011 but it is unlikely that he would play in the upcoming tournament.

2) Steve Smith

Steve Smith has been in top form off-late and will want to win this trophy. Since the tournament will happen in India, he can actually fire Australia to victory if he is in good form.

3) David Warner

David Warner is also one of the non-English cricketers who could win their 2nd ODI World Cup in 2023. Warner will also be playing in his last ODI WC and he will be desperate to help his side win another trophy, after helping the nation get the 2021 T20 WC.

4) Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins will lead Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup. It would be a great honour for him to be the captain of the side that will win the ODI World Cup.

5) Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell is also one of the non-English cricketers who could win their 2nd ODI World Cup in 2023. He is currently injured but he is all set to make a comeback soon. He will be very important to Australia's plans, especially because the tournament will happen in India.

6) Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood has been a consistent performer for Australia for a while now. The tall pacer will want to produce a performance that will make everyone recognize his contributions, which seem very under-rated now. He will want to be in a good fitness space ahead of the event.

7) Mitchell Starc

Starc might be playing in his last ODI World Cup, too. Just like Hazlewood, fitness will be a top priority for him. For Australia, too, Starc is needed at his best condition to win the trophy.
