Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah officially ruled out of T20 World Cup, India to announce replacement soon

India's star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, who was ruled out of the South Africa T20 series, underwent a scan at the National Cricket Association (NCA) on Thursday. He was reported to have a back stress fracture. Later, it was confirmed by the medical team that the pacer could make it back to the team.

However, on Monday, the BCCI confirmed officially that Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup. A press release was conducted, through which the BCCI official confirmed this news.

Earlier, the pacer also missed the entire Asia Cup because of the same issue. He played two T20 matches against Australia in the previous series, but then he felt some back problems, which resulted in him being ruled out of the series against South Africa. The Indian board hasn't announced his replacement yet

The BCCI official said in press release, "The BCCI Medical team has ruled out Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup squad. The decision was taken following a detailed assessment and in consultation with the specialists. The BCCI will be naming a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah soon."

This will be a massive blow for the Indian team because they are struggling with their pace-bowling department. Especially in the death overs, all the Indian pacers have leaked runs at a higher rate, and with no Bumrah in the team, the pressure will be on the other pacers.

Notably, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had already been ruled out due to a knee injury. Now, India will travel to Australia on October 6, where they will start their training. The Men in Blue are scheduled to play two warm-up games against Australia and New Zealand on October 17 and 19, respectively.

After that, India will open their campaign against archrivals Pakistan on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. India lost to Pakistan in the last WT20 in the UAE. So, this time they will look to perform better.
