Adani Group enters franchise cricket, buys a team in the UAE T20 league

It will not be a wrong statement to say that T20 cricket has changed the dynamics of the game of cricket. That is the reason it is the most followed format of cricket among the fans. Aside from the T20 World Cup, almost all countries have already established their own T20 leagues. And now one more T20 tournament is going to start in the United Arab Emirates.

UAE has introduced a T20 league that will feature six teams and will have 34 games, which will be an annual based fixture. The Emirates Cricket Board will operate this league and players from across the world will be able to participate in it. Notably, Adani Sportsline, a venture of Adani Group, has also shown interest in this and will take their first step into the franchise cricket league.

It will be the first assignment for the Adani Sportsline to connect with the game and its fans across the world. The UAE T20 League Chairman, Khalid Al Zarooni, shared his views on this association. He said that they are glad to welcome Adani Sportsline as a franchise team in the league.

Zarooni also pointed out that this will be a perfect combination as the other franchise owners are also some of the biggest corporate players. He also thanked Adani group and said, "We look forward to benefitting from their business acumen and working together to make our league successful."

Notably, the Adani Group is already associated with other sports in India, such as Kabaddi and boxing, but this will be their first cricket league. The Managing Director of Adani Group, Pranav Adani, also opened up and was excited about this. Speaking on this, he said that the UAE is an excellent place to promote cricket for various cricket-loving nations.

He also added that it will also enhance the presence of the Adani group in the game of cricket and will give the chance to the right talent from the very initial level by the Garv Hai initiative. The other corporates that have acquired a team in the UAE league are Reliance Industries Limited, Lancer Capital, GMR Group and Capri Global.
