Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan among players listed for the BBL 2022 Overseas Player Draft: Report

 

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, some of the best T20 players from Pakistan, the likes captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi are all set to part of the player draft of international players in the Big Bash League (BBL).

Some of the top players from most of the countries are set to be a part of the BBL player draft. The likes of Afghanistan's charismatic spin-bowler Rashid Khan, West Indies' Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo and South Africa's Faf du Plessis have already been included in this list.

Now according to the report, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, two of the best batsmen of T20 cricket nowadays, are also ready to be a part of the league.

The Melbourne Renegades team has secured the first choice in the BBL's inaugural Overseas Players Draft after the first draw in the lottery organized by Cricket Australia (CA) on 20 July.

According to sen.com.au, "More than 170 players have enrolled for the BBL draft while Cricket Australia (CA) has made only 28 names public."

In IPL 2022, Rashid Khan performed really well while playing for Gujarat Titans (GT), being a key for them lifting the Trophy. He is now certain to return to the Adelaide Strikers (AS) in the BBL for the upcoming season. Team head coach Jason Gillespie has already warned that he will try his best to keep Rashid in his team. Let us tell you, Rashid has played 61 matches for this franchise.

On the other hand, Kieron Pollard is the most experienced T20 cricketer of all time. He has played a total of 598 matches for 18 teams. He is the third highest run scorer in this format. He has scored 11,670 runs at an average of 31.20 and a strike rate of 151. Just a few months back, Kieran Pollard has retired from international cricket, while his teammate Bravo retired after the T20 World Cup played last year.

Bravo has so far taken 596 wickets in 542 matches. At the same time, Rashid Khan has taken 466 wickets. Rashid took 8 wickets in six matches for Sussex in the recently concluded T20 Blast.
