"Better to go with the same team"- Former Indian pacer believes India should stick with same team in 3rd T20 vs SA

The third T20I match between India and South Africa is about to start in Visakhapatnam. Having lost both matches of the series, the home team is under incredible pressure to win the third game to stay alive in the series.

On the othe hand, the visitors need one more victory to win the series. And if it happens, this will be the first ever T20 series victory for the Proteas against the Indian team. After two dismal performances from the bowling unit, a few changes are expected in the playing XI. A few exciting bowlers might get the game in the third T20I.

The inclination is towards Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik to make their debut in the game. Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, and Harshal Patel didn't have good performances in the first two games. But the former Indian pacer, Ashish Nehra, feels that India should stick with the same XI that played in the first two matches.

In a pre-match discussion on ESPN Cricinfo, Nehra said that it is not a situation like you have already lost 9-10 matches, it is just two games, so there is no need to make any changes in the XI. If there is a difference in the pitch or conditions, you can make changes.

Nehra said, "It is going to be the same team. The other players who are sitting outside, when they get a chance to play even, they will be given a run of four or five matches."

The former pacer also showed confidence in Avesh Khan, saying that the pacer hadn't done anything bad and didn't bowl his complete quota of four overs. Nehra concluded that if they need to add one more pacer or want to stay with two spinners, they should stick with the same XI.

Notably, India failed to defend a huge target of 212 runs in the first match. Then in the second game, they couldn't manage to defend 148 runs, irrespective of a brilliant performance by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
