MS Dhoni happens to be one of the most popular cricketers of this era. One of the major reasons for this has been his performance on the field and the way he carries himself off it. Recently, in an interaction, the World Cup-winning captain revealed the secret behind Number 7.

In India, the number 7 has become synonymous with MS Dhoni. While MSD's jersey number is seven, there are a few brands that are also associated with this number. For any sportsperson, the jersey number will be very dear to them. Till now, MSD has not revealed the exact reason why he has chosen the number 7. In a recent interaction, he did that.

MS Dhoni said that he was born on 7th July and hence, when he started out, he just picked the number based on his birthday. Incidentally, he was born in 1981 and 8-1 is also equal to seven. While the CSK skipper initially picked the number due to his birthday, it was later due to the talks of people around him that the number took prominence. Hence, he went on to use the number other than for his jersey number. Dhoni further revealed that he is not superstitious but conceded that the number is close to his heart. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has started preparation for IPL 2022. The CSK camp is currently in Surat and preparations have been strong for the defending champions.
