"He is good"- "Baby Malinga" Matheesha Pathirana praised the TNPL superstar who bowls like him

The 2022 season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League is underway and the competition has reached its business end. There have been some extraordinary performances so far this season, and fans have been treated to some extraordinary cricket by the teams this year.

Four teams will qualify for the next round of the competition. However, the top four teams at the moment are Nellai Royal Kings, Chepauk Super Gillies, Madurai Panthers, and Lyca Kovai Kings. The final of the tournament will be played on Sunday, July 31.

However, one TNPL video clip is going viral, which is not from the ongoing season. Even the pace sensation and "Baby Malinga", who was part of the Chennai Super Kings in the last Indian Premier League, Matheesha Pathirana, has shared it on his official Twitter account with a captain of "He is good @TNPremierLeague 👏".

But a brilliant bowling display from Ganeshan Periyaswamy helped Chepauk to win the game with the best ever figure in the history of the TNPL final. He picked up five wickets and gave away just 15 runs in his four over, including a maiden.

With his superb bowling display, his team restricted Dindigul Dragons to just 114/9 and won the finals by 12 runs to lift the TNPL trophy. Notably, Periyaswamy also bowls with a slingy action, like a bit of Sri Lankan legendary bowler Lasith Malinga.

Pathirana, who himself bowls with a slingy action, shared that video of Periyaswamy's five-wicket haul in the TNPL 2019 final. However, Periyaswamy is not with Chepauk anymore. This season, he is representing the Salem Spartans.
