India's likely permanent XI for T20I after the 2022 T20 World Cup from 2023

Not just India but most teams will enter the transition period after the 2022 T20 World Cup. For India, some of the seniors might make way so that the preparation gets started for the 2024 T20 World Cup. On that note, in this article, we take a look at India's likely XI for T20I after the 2022 T20 World Cup from 2023.

India's T20 strategy has clearly changed and to implement that, some suitable players are needed. A few seniors are inconsistent and might be left out of the squad. Therefore, it is likely that we will have a fresh XI from next year onwards.

Openers: KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan

KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan are likely to be the openers in India's likely XI for T20I after the 2022 T20 World Cup from 2023. KL Rahul has to improve or else, he could also be dropped. That said, if Rahul starts realizing his potential, he will be the first name on the list. Ishan Kishan is not in the plans right now but he is someone India is likely to invest in. India needs players with intent at the top of the order and Ishan is one of the very few left-handers in India who are capable of that. Even Prithvi Shaw might get a chance here.

Middle-Order: Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK) and Sanju Samson

SKY's No.3 spot is likely to get sealed if Virat Kohli moves on. On current form, SKY is the most important member of the batting line-up. Rishabh Pant's form may not be great but he will surely be backed to come good in this format. Sanju Samson's presence in the XI is inevitable. Since the top-order is occupied, Samson might be deployed as a finisher.

All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya (C) and Axar Patel

Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel will be the all-rounders in India's likely XI for T20I after the 2022 T20 World Cup from 2023. While Hardik could even become the captain of the side, Axar's improved batting performances mean that he could get the No.7 spot ahead of Ravindra Jadeja.

Bowlers: Deepak Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh

Harshal Patel has been inconsistent and hence, someone like Deepak Chahar could be preferred. Deepak would also be the replacement for Bhuvneshwar Kumar and also adds batting skills at No.8. Ravi Bishnoi is likely to take over from Chahal as the leggie in the XI. Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh will complete this bowling attack. The likes of Mohammed Siraj will also be on the fringes of this squad.
