"Jo hamare top cricketers hai..."- Shaheen Afridi targets Ex-Pak players after reaching semis in T20 WC

The last day of the group stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia turned out to be a spectacular day of events in this tournament. It started with certainly the biggest upset that the game has ever seen, too, when everything was on the line.

Netherlands defeated South Africa by 13 runs and knocked them out of the competition. This loss by South Africa helped Pakistan clinch a spot in the semi-final. And then, the Men in Green defeated Bangladesh in a virtual quarterfinal to seal the second spot in the semis from Group 2.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan was hoping for an upset, either in the Netherlands vs South Africa game or the India vs Zimbabwe game, so that they could sneak a way into the next round of the competition. And that is what happened, and Pakistan has now entered the semifinals.

On the other hand, Pakistan thrashed Bangladesh in their game. This victory came good for Babar Azam and his team as the Ace pacer Shaheen Afridi led his team to a victory and ended up registering the best bowling figure in T20I.

Shaheen picked up 4/22 in his quota of four overs, and Pakistan restricted Bangladesh to 127/8 in their first innings. Chasing the target, Pakistan had a slow start, and even they lost a few wickets in the middle. But in the end, they chased down the target in 18.1 overs.

Notably, Pakistan started poorly with two consecutive defeats against India and Zimbabwe, which almost kicked them out of the competition. That resulted in huge criticism from many former Pakistani players and cricket analysts. But now, the Men in Green have made an incredible comeback, beating the Netherlands, South Africa, and Bangladesh in three games to secure a place in the semi-final.

After the win against Bangladesh, Shaheen Afridi came out to attend the post-match press conference and slammed all those former players who criticised the team when they lost the first two games in the tournament. He said that it hurts when former players target the players and team. He also said that former players needed to support the team in difficult situations.
