"Playing in IPL and playing for country are both different"- Ravindra Jadeja opens up about his IPL controversies

At the end of Day 2 of the fifth and final Test match between India and England, the visitors had shown complete dominance. In reply to India's 416, the home team is at 84/5 at the stumps of the second day with a trail of 332 runs.

Ahead of India's bowling innings, it was an extraordinary effort from No. 1 ranked all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, who brought up his third Test century and helped India to reach a good total in their first innings. At the end of the day's play, the all-rounder opened up about his struggles and controversies during the IPL.

Jadeja, who was named captain of the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the start of the IPL, stepped down in the middle of the season and was then sidelined due to injury. There were also a few rumours about the rift between the all-rounder and the franchise that caught the attention of everyone.

However, the last couple of months have been a rollercoaster ride for Jadeja. He has seen both ups and downs. After scoring his third century, he spoke about his struggles in the IPL. He said that whatever happened in the IPL was not on his mind because whenever you are playing for country, you need to focus on that.

He added, "There is no better satisfaction that performing well for India. I can really take some confidence to score a 100 in England especially in swinging conditions, so yeah it feels really good."

The Indian team did a really good job, and even Jadeja batted well with the tailenders at the end of the innings. India started Day 2 at 338 and added another 78 runs to that score Mohammed Shami and skipper Jasprit Bumrah had significant contributions to the score.

The all-rounder also pointed out the efforts of India's 9, 10, and 11. He said our bowlers also practise batting a lot, and the management makes sure that they work on their batting. However, it feels good when the tailenders come and make some runs for the team.

Jadeja lauded Bumrah's efforts, saying that he always takes batting seriously, even in the nets, and that the 40-45 runs he has added with others today are a total bonus for the team. The Indian captain scored an unbeaten 31* off 16 balls, including 35 runs in one over of Stuart Broad.
