"Stop thinking about IPL money" - Former cricketers urges Indian team to focus on national duty than IPL
Former Pakistani bowler Danish Kaneria has strongly criticized the Indian team, who lost the first two matches of the ODI series against Bangladesh. He has asked Indian players to think about international cricket more instead of IPL.
On the tour of Bangladesh, the Indian team was going to be a strong contender for the victory from the beginning of the ODI series but it did not happen. Hosts Bangladesh played brilliantly in their home conditions and won the first two matches of the three-match series to take an unassailable lead.
Bangladesh won the first match by 1 wicket, while in the second match, they defeated Team India by 5 runs. Earlier in 2015, the Indian team had to face defeat in the ODI series under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
Kaneria came down heavily on the Indian team on his YouTube channel and said that the players should think more about international cricket than the big money they get in IPL.
He said, "Stop thinking about IPL and think about the country. Indian cricket is most important, not franchise cricket. There is money in franchise cricket, but you can also make money from international cricket. Till the time you start giving importance to international cricket, these kind of results will continue."
The Pakistani spinner also criticized the rotation policy being followed in the Indian team. According to him, the batsmen are not clear about their order in the batting line-up. He pointed out the lack of planning and said that Bangladesh also have a good chance of winning the Test series.
