Watch: Sarfaraz Khan breaks down in tears after scoring a hundred in the Ranji Trophy Final
In the ongoing Ranji trophy final between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai’s middle order batsman Sarfaraz Khan scored a magnificent century to take his team to the driving position in this final.
Sarfaraz Khan came into bat at number 5 after the dismissal of Suved Parkar at 147-3, then stitched a partnership with every team member and now Mumbai are in commanding position in this finals. Sarfaraz Khan celebrated his century emotionally with tears in his eyes. It looked like he had a point to prove in this finals.
Now Mumbai is at 351-8 on the Day 2 of lunch. Sarfaraz Khan remained not out at 119. Since Mumbai has only 2 wickets left we can expect some big shots from Sarfaraz Khan in this post lunch session. Mumbai will look to score another 50 runs and take the total to 400 mark and look to give their bowlers to bowl ten to twenty overs and look for early wickets.
Sarfaraz Khan is having a brilliant Ranji Trophy season with Mumbai as he is the top scorer of this season. He has scored nearly 800 runs in this year's tournament. He scored 275 runs against Saurashtra, 165 against Odisha and 153 against Uttarakhand. Now today he adds a hundred to his name in the Ranji trophy Finals.
Sarfaraz Khan at his earlier age moved to UP to play Ranji trophy due to his father’s advice. But he could not shine there. In 2020 he returned to his birth place Mumbai to play the Ranji Trophy. He also said it was his dream to hit a century wearing the Mumbai Ranji Jersey.
Many former players suggested that Sarfaraz Khan should be taken into the Indian side which will fly to England this summer. But it was not the case this time, as he wasn't taken to the Indian side since there is already heavy competition going out there. But looking at his performance it is sure that he will represent India in the red ball format soon.
