AB de Villiers reflects on his international career

AB de Villiers has become a household name to cricket fans around the world. AB de Villiers' ability to hit the ball anywhere in cricket has earned him a Mr. 360 nickname and is very famous to the fans.

But the South African batsman, who can also do wicketkeeping, is no more showing his class in South Africa's green jersey as he announced his retirement from international cricket in May 2018.

There was news going on that the former South African international wanted to come back to help South Africa in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021. 

On the 3rd of August 2021, the South African took a little time out and shared some moments of his career with his fans through his social media account. Today, AB de Villiers posted multiple pictures of him with his former South African teammates, including Dale Steyn, Faf du Plessis, Graeme Smith, and more.

Below all that, AB de Villiers shared an emotional message as well, which reads, "More than personal milestones or success, these are the kind of moments I'll remember forever when I look back at my international career with the Proteas (South Africa). Being genuinely happy for my teammates' success and ultimately standing together out there and fighting it out for South Africa. Such a privilege," he finished off.

AB de Villiers will always be one of the best to grace South African cricket. De Villiers has played more than 400 matches for South Africa, and the player requesting to play for them one last time in the T20 World Cup shows love for his country.

AB de Villiers has scored 8765 runs in 114 Test matches, 9577 runs in 228 One Day International matches, and 1672 runs in 78 T20 International. AB de Villiers is also a famous name in India for his outstanding performance in the Indian Premier League, where he scored 5056 runs in 176 matches. He has been playing in the IPL since its inaugural season.
