Brad Hogg names Kane Williamson as the captain of his best XI of IPL 2020

Heading to the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former Australia cricketer Brad Hogg has picked up his best eleven of the cash-rich league. To start with, the former player named Rohit Sharma and David Warner as the openers. Notably, Warner is the leading run-scorer among the foreign players who have also won the Orange Cap in the history of the league.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in the league, winning the title four times. However, Hogg named Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Kane Williamson as the captain of IPL who led the side in absence of Warner who was serving the one-year ban due to the ball-tampering scandal.

Williamson guided the Sunrisers to the final and also became one of the leading run-getter in the league. In Hogg’s chosen squad, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s captain Virat Kohli placed at three and Williamson was slotted at number four as well. Notably, Kohli is the all-time highest run-scorer in the IPL who has five tons in his name. Hogg chose Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant as the wicketkeeper of the squad. However, he didn’t pick up MS Dhoni in the team.

It is noteworthy that, MS Dhoni has won the IPL title three times and also led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to the playoffs every time he captained the side. Alongside them, Andre Russell and Ravindra Jadeja were included as the specialist all-rounders. Meanwhile, Russell was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the 2019 IPL as well.

On the other hand, Sunil Narine has been included in the lower middle-order in his best eleven. Along with him, India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has also been added in the spin-department. In the fast bowling option, Hogg named India speedsters Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

While Bumrah is known for his deadly Yorkers that trouble the batsman worldwide, Bhuvneshwar, on the other hand, is one of the highest wicket-takers in the history of the league with 133 scalps. He has also won the Purple Cap a few times too.
