Mohammed Shami went past Virat Kohli to achieve a special batting record in Test

After dominating the first two days of the first test in Nagpur, India has put their feat on the accelarator. Starting the day witha  lead of 144 runs, India added another 79 runs. India got dismissed for 400 runs and has taken a brilliant 223-run lead in the first inning.

Indian tail added some crucial runs for the team to take India to 400. Ravindra Jadeja was the first wicket to fall on the third day. He added just four runs to his overnight score and got out for 70 runs, which brought Mohammed Shami to the crease.

Then Shami and Axar Patel added another brilliant partnership of 52 runs for the ninth wicket. Shami used the long handle and entertained the crowd with his brilliant little cameo of 37 off 47 balls, with two fours and three maximums.

Axar was the last wicket to fall, as he got out after scoring his career-best test score of 84 runs with 10 fours and one six. Shami, on the other hand, was in full mode and snubbed the opportunity presented to him.Meanwhile, in his inning, he also went past the former Indian captain Virat Kohli's tally of the most sixes in his test career.

Meanwhile, Murphy ended up with a brilliant bowling figure of 7/124 in his debut inning. He has registered the third best figure by an Australian on debut and the second-best against India after Jason Krezja's 8/215 in the same venue in the 2008/9 BGT series.
