Explained: Here's why Delhi Capitals are wearing a rainbow color type jersey vs. MI

The 46th match of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway in the United Arab Emirates' Sharjah Cricket Stadium. In a rematch of the final match of the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League, the two-time defending champions Mumbai Indians are locking horns with the Delhi. However, many fans would have noticed today that the Capitals are wearing a different kit for this match.

Unlike their general jersey, the one which they are donning in the match against the Mumbai Indians has a rainbow color type touch. The reason why the Capitals are wearing this kit today is to celebrate the diversity of India. The Delhi Capitals sported this kit last year as well, but in a match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Delhi Capitals recorded a win in that match, and it seems like they will maintain their unbeaten record in this new jersey today as well.

The Sharjah Cricket Stadium is hosting the match between the Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. The skipper of the Delhi Capitals team Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to field first. The decision seems to have worked in favor of the Delhi Capitals team because they have restricted the Mumbai Indians to 87/5 in 14.4 overs.

The Mumbai Indians team has some of the best batters in the world in their lineup. However, the likes of Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav failed to play a big knock against DC.

Apart from the Delhi-based franchise, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have also worn a different kit in one match this year. They had worn the blue kit against KKR to honor the COVID-19 warriors.
