"For a big player, it's a weak statement" Kapil Dev expresses disappointment at Virat Kohli's comment
Former Indian World Cup winning captain and legend Kapil Dev has expressed his disappointment over Virat Kohli's statement to the press after India suffered another defeat in the T20 World Cup 2021.
The Indian cricket team suffered 2nd straight defeat in the T20 World Cup 2021, first to arch-rival Pakistan and then to New Zealand, both by a huge margin of difference.
Virat Kohli stated that it is quite bizzare and brutal upfront. He further added that the team was not brave enough. That really the India's first ever World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev.
Kapil Dev during a show on ABP News stated that for a player with a stature of Virat Kohli, it was a weak statement from him. He continued that Kohli's statement shows the kind of body language that the Indian team have and kind of thought process is going around the mind of the Indian captain Virat Kohli.

Going back to India's run in the T20 World Cup 2021, it is just miserable. The Indian cricket team slipped to 2nd straight losses in the tournament, after having played only the 2 matches in the tournament.
However, the defeats are not just losses. The Indian cricket team is going down by big margins, first, they suffered a 10 wickets defeat in the hand of the Pakistan cricket team, then, another 8 wicket defeat to New Zealand.

Talking of the New Zealand match, Virat Kohli once again saw the coin flip against him and the Kiwis asked India to bat first.
India came in with a new opening duo of Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul. But the experiment didn't go well as Ishan Kishan got out after scoring just 4 runs in the 3rd over.
India kept on losing wickets and could build up a partnership, as a result, the men in blue could only score 110 runs in the 20 overs. Ish Sodhi turned out a big troublemaker for India as the leggie got the biggest wicket of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Other than him, Trent Boult picked up 3 wickets, Adam Milne and Southee one wicket each.
It was really easy for New Zealand as they completed the chase with 8 wickets and 6 overs still in hand. All-rounder Dary Mitchell, opening for New Zealand, showed the Kiwis the winning ways as he scored 49 runs. Kane Williamson then contributed with 33 runs. All in all, New Zealand scored 111 runs of just 14.3 overs and lost only 2 wickets. Bumrah is the man behind those wickets.
