Glenn Maxwell expresses his wish to join Royal Challengers Bangalore

The 2021 IPL Auction is fast approaching and the fans have their eyes on the Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. The Kings XI Punjab had signed the Melbourne Stars player for 10.75 Crores in the previous auction. Unfortunately, he could not justify his price tag.

In the entire IPL 2020 season, Glenn Maxwell failed to hit a single six. He was not so impressive with the ball as well. Thus, the Kings XI Punjab decided against retaining him even though he has fired with the bat in recent matches.

In an interview ahead of the IPL 2021 Auction, Glenn Maxwell was asked about how he would feel if the Royal Challengers Bangalore sign him at the auction. Here’s what he replied:

"That'll be awesome. AB [is] one of my idols and one of the guys I've always tried to watch the way he goes about [things]. It'll be awesome to work with him, and he's always been really helpful to me along the journey. Whenever I've caught up with him, he's been brilliant. So to be able to work with him first hand will be pretty cool.”

"I get along with Virat pretty well. It'll be certainly nice to work under Virat and will certainly enjoy batting with him - that's for sure.”

It will be interesting to see if the Royal Challengers Bangalore sign Glenn Maxwell at the auction. RCB need an all-rounder after they released the quartet of Shivam Dube, Moeen Ali, Chris Morris, and Isuru Udana. Hence, the chances Maxwell would be present on RCB’s wishlist ahead of the IPL Auction is very high.
