Virender Sehwag and Pathan Brothers set to make a comeback to cricket field, will feature in Legend League Cricket

T20 cricket is the format that will take cricket forward. That is the reason we are seeing different T20 leagues held every year around the world. And the fan base of every T20 tournament is extraordinary. But one league that is one of the most followed is the Legends League Cricket.

The first edition of the Legends League Cricket was held in January 2022 at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, Muscat, and the final took place on January 29. It had three teams: India, the rest of Asia, and the rest of the world. And the second edition of this league has been announced.

The next edition will be played in September 2022. But as compared to the first edition, it will feature four teams this time around. It will take place between September 20 and October 10 in Muscat, Oman.

Former Indian superstars Virender Sehwag, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan will feature in this league. Notably, Sehwag was supposed to lead the India Maharajas team, but due to COVID-19, he couldn't take part in the tournament. Hence, Mohammad Kaif captained the side in his absence.

On the other hand, the Pathan brothers, who played in the first edition, had a really good impact and are excited to play in the second edition. LLP will take place like the IPL, and it will be a franchise-based tournament where four teams will compete in it.

The CEO of Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja, also spoke on the second edition of the league. He confirmed that it will be a four-franchise-based tournament and that it will take place between September 20 and October 10 in Oman.

He also added that there are currently 110 former cricket superstars that will feature in four different teams through a draft process. So a total of 80 players will be shortlisted for the tournament. The CEO concluded, "The format is such that it would make us an International T20 League with the highest number of international cricketers in the playing eleven."
