"Slapped me on my face 3-4 times"- Ross Taylor made a shocking allegation against an IPL franchise owner

Ross Taylor is among the best batsmen in the history of the game that New Zealand has produced. He has led the Black Caps to many victories in the past. However, on December 30, 2021, the 38-year-old announced his retirement from international cricket. He wrote his autobiography and it was released earlier this week.

Taylor has described everything about his career and how he started with every detail. But in his autobiography, he has made a shocking revelation about the moment when an IPL owner slapped him across his face, following his batting failure in the match.

It was during his playing days with the Rajasthan Royals. He got out without scoring any runs for a duck when RR were chasing a big total set by Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). However, he also clarified that those slaps were not forceful, but he wasn't sure that it ended as "entirely play-acting".

Furthermore, he was quoted as saying that after the match, the team management were there in the top on the top floor and even Liz Hurley was there with Warnie (Shane Warne). Notably, the 38-year-old was with the Rajasthan Royals for the 2011 season.

Taylor said, "Rajasthan played Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. The chase was 195, I was lbw for a duck and we didn't get close. One of the Royals owners said to me, 'Ross, we didn't pay you a million dollars to get a duck' and slapped me across the face three or four times."

He added that it might not be intentional and he didn't raise any issue at that time. Taylor stated that he didn't believe that such things ever happened in any kind of professional sporting event or tournament.

The 38-year-old started his IPL career with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He played for RCB from 2008 to 2010. Then, he was with RR in 2011; later, he also played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Pune Warriors in his IPL career.
