Watch: What a beautiful Gesture by Team India; Jhulan Goswami came out for Toss along with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur

 

The veteran Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami is playing her last international game for India at the highest level at the most iconic ground, Lord's. The 39-year-old will hang up her boots after a 20-year-long superb career. She has represented India in 12 Tests, 68 T20Is and 204 ODIs in her career.

The veteran pacer has taken 253 ODI wickets, 44 Tests and 56 T20I wickets. India are leading the three-match series by 2-0 with wins in the first two ODIs. However, at the toss in the third match, the Indian management showed a beautiful gesture towards the veteran.

The whole Indian team, including staff, went into a huddle, and the veteran was also awareded by a special momento. The Indian women's skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, couldn't control her emotions and was seen crying. Jhulan also followed her captain for the toss.

She has won the Asia Cup three times during her career and was also part of the India team that reached the finals of the 2005 and 2017 World Cups, respectively. Ahead of the start of her last match, she addressed and thanked everyone.

She said, "I'd like to thank the BCCI, my friends, my family, my coaches, teammates, captains. Each and every moment [of 20 year career] has had a lot of emotions, a lot of effort put in. Everyone, thanks for this opportunity, this is a very special moment."

She also shared some of the moments of her career and particularly highlighted the performance of the team in the 2017 ODI World Cup. In the end, she concluded and said that she is looking forward to life after retirement and will always motivate the young girls to take up the sport.
