Prize Money Announced: Here's the complete list of Prize Money to be offered to all teams in T20 WC 2022

The T20 World Cup 2022 is just a few weeks away, which will start in Australia on October 16th. A total of 16 teams will take part in the ICC event to try their luck at being crowned as the World Champions. Australia will defend their title at home and will look to make it two out of two.

The top eight teams based on their performance in the last year and their rankings have directly qualified for the "Super 12" stage, while the other eight teams will play in the first round of the tournament to qualify for the remaining four spots in the "Super 12".

A total of 45 games will be played, including the final on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Winning the tournament will earn you not only the title of "World Champions," but also a sizable sum of money.

On Friday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the prize money for winning the tournament and for other different positions. The winning team will be rewarded with a whopping amount of USD 1.6 million as a cash prize.

The ICC released a statement on Friday about the cash prizes in the competition. It was announced, "The ICC announced that the winning side at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne on November 13 would receive prize money of USD 1.6 million, with the runners-up guaranteed half the amount."

The total prize to be distributed during the competition is USD 5.6 million. After the conclusion of the tournament, the semi-finalist who loses will get USD 400,000. However, the eight teams who will not make it to the semi-finals will get USD 70,000 each.

Just like the last T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE, every win in the "Super 12" stage will give the winning team an amount of USD 40,000. However, for the first round of qualifiers, every win will give the winning team an amount of USD 40,000, and the four teams that will get eliminated from the first round itself will get USD 40,000.
