"If he wins Orange Cap, his team will win their maiden IPL Title"- Ajay Jadeja's bold prediction for IPL 2023

The next edition of the Indian Premier League will get underway on Friday, March 31. It will commence with a game between Gujarat Titans, who will defend their title, and the Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Last season saw a complete turnaround, with two new teams joining the competition and doing pretty well. On the other hand, CSK and MI, who shared nine IPL titles between them, ended the season at the bottom of the table.

The upcoming season is expected to be bigger than ever, with all teams playing their games at home and away.  This is the first time since 2020 that fans will see their teams play matches at home.  When some teams are getting their preparations done for the upcoming season, some are struggling with injuries to their key players.

A number of players will miss the upcoming season due to injuries. Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Kyle Jamieson, Jhye Richardson are some players who have been ruled out due to injury while Jonny Bairstow didn't get the NOC from the ECB to participate in the IPL.

However, Rishabh Pant is another notable name to miss out after he suffered a horrible car accident in December, which has kept him out of the action for at least a year. This Delhi franchise has named David Warner as the captain, and Axar Patel will be the vice captain.

Pant will undoubtedly be missed in the Delhi camp, but the franchise has the firepower of Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Prithvi Shaw, Rovman Powell, and Rilee Rossouw in their lineup, and anyone of them can win games single-handedly. That's what former Indian star Ajay Jadeja reckons, and he said that Marsh can proved to be the game-changer for DC.

In a discussion on Cricbuzz, Jadeja said, "What a performance (from Mitchell Marsh). Delhi (Capitals) fans would be very happy with this. Such a big player and now he has to come to form. His brother had won the Orange Cap once, but Punjab couldn't win the tournament then. But if he (Mitchell) wins the Orange Cap, their team will win the tournament, such is the impact of this player."

DC finished fifth in the last edition and missed the chance to qualify for the playoffs. Jadeja feels that with the form Marsh is in, if he wins the "Orange Cap," then DC might end up winning the title. DC will open their campaign with a game against Lucknow Super Giants on April 1 in Lucknow.
