Is this the reason why MS Dhoni is India's mentor for T20 WC?

There is an immense amount of joy inside the Indian Cricket Team's fan base following the arrival of MS Dhoni. The sudden retirement of Captain Cool took the entire cricketing fraternity with a shock. However, now he is back as he will be a mentor for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India thanked MSD for accepting the request. This decision came on 9th September along with India's 15 men squad for the mega event. Currently, Mahi is in UAE practicing with his CSK teammates for the upcoming phase 2 of IPL 2021. Post-IPL, the World Cup will take place at the same venue.

India TV News has described the reason behind MSD's appointment and various other reports. The report stated that BCCI is reportedly not happy with Virat Kohli's captaincy in ICC tournaments.

The report stated that In Wednesday's official meet it was also confirmed that Indian captain MS Dhoni as a mentor and was an indication that BCCI wants to win this World Cup at all costs and also further shows that there is more trust in Dhoni than Shastri and Kohli.

Virat might lose captaincy if the side fails to win the World Cup: Reports

The source had even given the statement of some other website named Dainik Jagran. That website had one report which revealed that the Indian skipper might be changed if Virat and his company failed to win the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

There was also the presence of Kuldeep Yadav in that news piece. The officials also feel that Kuldeep has been given less chances post the 2019 ICC World Cup. Even though all these are still reports, it would be interesting to see if this comes out to be true or not.
