Watch: Virat Kohli's invaluable reaction to Shubman Gill's century vs AUS in Ahmedabad

The fourth test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The proceedings of the third day are underway, and the pitch is turning into a run-feast for the batters.

Australia made 480 runs in their first inning; India has responded strongly to that score, and opener Shubman Gill, who faced criticism after failing to score in the third test, shut down all the critics with a brilliant century. The 23-year-old has scored his second test hundred in the first inning in Ahmedabad.

It is his first test century on home soil. This is the second hundred by an Indian batter in the series after Rohit Sharma made it in the first test in Nagpur. Meanwhile, Gill also became only the fourth Indian player to score a century in all three formats within a calendar year.

Prior to the BGT series, he scored two ODI hundreds against New Zealand, which included a double century as well. Then, he also scored a century in the T20 series against the Black Caps. With the pitch helping the batters, Gill made the most of it.

Earlier, for Australia, Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green scored centuries. Khawaja made 180 runs while Green scored 114 runs in the first inning. For India, Ravi Ashwin picked up 6/91. Team India needs this win to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship.
