Marcus Stoinis reveals the reason behind carrying a Hulk action figure in presentation ceremony
The Delhi Capitals surprised the fans by dropping Prithvi Shaw from the playing XI and using Marcus Stoinis as an opener. Stoinis had previously opened the innings for the Kings XI Punjab in IPL, while he had been very successful as an opening batsman for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.
The move to promote Stoinis paid off as the Australian all-rounder had a marvelous opening partnership along with Shikhar Dhawan at the top of the order. Dhawan and Stoinis’ start laid the platform for Shimron Hetmyer to take the team’s score past 180.
Since it was a high-stakes match, the Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen came under immense pressure as apart from Kane Williamson, none of the other players could make much impact. Stoinis showcased his magic with the ball as well.
Bowling right-arm medium pace, Stoinis dismissed three SRH batsmen and set up the win for the Capitals. Delhi will play their maiden IPL final against the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday now. But Marcus Stoinis was seen with a Hulk action figure in the presentation ceremony after the match.
Captain Shreyas Iyer had a chat with him post the match, where he disclosed that he thought he looked like Hulk when he was celebrating his wickets. Here’s how the conversation happened between the two Delhi Capitals players.
"Apparently this is what I am looking like when I am celebrating my wicket. That's sticky. Now every time when I celebrate, I think I look like this (Hulk)," Stoinis said in a video uploaded on IPLT20.com.
"When you roam around us, we feel like this huge guy coming in and out. Just try to stay away from me. You can get angry any time," the DC skipper responded.
