"My last T20 will be in Chennai" - MS Dhoni hints at his future in IPL with CSK

Former Indian cricket team captain and legend and Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings' captain MS Dhoni has spoken about his future in the IPL.

It was during the star studded felicitation at Kalaivanar Arangam to celebrate Chennai Super Kings' IPL 2021 win. In attendance were BCCI secretary Jay Shah, Tamil Nadu's  CM MK Stalin and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev.

During the event, while addressing the people in attendance, MS Dhoni talked about his future in T20 cricket. He stated that his last T20 match wil be in Chennai.

As we all know, MS Dhoni has retired from all forms of cricket, except he continued playing in IPL. However, come the IPL 2022, all the teams are mandatory to release all the players, except a maximum of 4 players.

Thus, MS Dhoni's statement today could be taken as a hint that the Chennai based franchise and MS Dhoni have already decided that they will continue next year and MS Dhoni will be retained.

CSK's fairytale comeback under MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni led the CSK team to a fairytale comeback to win the IPL 2021. Chennai Super Kings didn't had a good season in 2020 as they finished 7th in the points table and questions were raised on the team and on MS Dhoni.

But, it was under MS Dhoni that CSK made a stunning comeback this season and went on to win IPL 2021, defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Final, who themselves made a huge comeback this season itself after a disappointing first half.
