PBKS Fielding Coach provides major update on Shikhar Dhawan's injury
Meanwhile, Punjab was led by Sam Curran, while Shikhar Dhawan missed his second consecutive game due to fitness issues. PBKS missed Dhawan and was unable to chase a tricky target from RCB.
Batting first, RCB got off to a brilliant start with both Virat and Du Plessis adding 137 runs for the first wicket in 16.1 overs. Virat scored 59 off 47, with five fours and one six, while Du Plessis made a 56-ball 84, including five sixes and five fours, to help RCB post 174/4 in the first inning.
Chasing the target, PBKS had a struggling start and lost four wickets for just 43 in the power play. Prabhsimran Singh looked good for his 46 off 30, and Jitesh Sharma (41 off 27) also tried hard, but Punjab got dismissed for 150 and lost the game.
It was very clear that PBKS missed Dhawan badly because he was doing the bulk of the scoring in the games he played. He scored 233 runs in just four innings at 116.50. After the game, PBKS fielding coach Trevor Gonsalves gave an important update on Dhawan's injury.
Gonsalves said, "It should take around 2–3 days more." PBKS will play their next game on Saturday against the five-time champion Mumbai Indians. Curran also led Punjab in the last game against GT and won it. After the loss against RCB on Thursday, PBKS has slipped to 7th place with three defeats and three wins in six games, six points, and a NRR of -0298.
