Many members of the cricket universe would know that the Lucknow IPL franchise have taken over the social media accounts of former IPL runners-up Rising Pune Supergiant.
The likes of MS Dhoni, Faf du Plessis, Steve Smith, Albie Morkel, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh, Ishant Sharma, Ashok Dinda and several other stars turned up for the Rising Pune Supergiant team. The RPS franchise played in 2016 and 2017 IPL seasons, reaching the summit clash in the year 2017, where Mumbai Indians defeated them by 1 run.
Speaking of the Lucknow IPL franchise now, the eight existing franchises have welcomed the team in their own ways. Punjab Kings also sent a message to the Lucknow franchise.
Fans should note that the former Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul asked for his release from the franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. According to reports, Rahul received an offer worth a whopping INR 20 crore from the Lucknow franchise ahead of the mega auction.
If reports are to be believed, Rahul will be the captain of the Lucknow franchise in the IPL 2022 season.
