Real reason why Ambati Rayudu is not playing against RR revealed

Ambati Rayudu helped Chennai Super Kings win their IPL 2020 season opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians. Trent Boult and James Pattinson removed the duo of Murali Vijay and Shane Watson early as Chennai found itself in deep troubles. 

Faf du Plessis and Rayudu saved the team from an embarrassing loss as their wonderful partnership for the third wicket helped Chennai win the game. However, in the second match against Rajasthan Royals, the Chennai team management excluded Rayudu from their playing XI. 

The fans are wondering why did Chennai remove Rayudu from the team despite his match-winning performance. Team captain MS Dhoni had given an update on this situation and said that:

“We have one change – Rayudu is not 100 percent, so Ruturaj comes in his place.”

Ruturaj Gaikwad had tested positive for COVID-19 before the IPL 2020 season began. However, he recovered from the disease and is now playing his first match. The team management had backed Gaekwad to replace Suresh Raina in the team, but because of Rayudu’s issues, he has taken up his position in the team. 

It will be interesting to see where he bats in the top order. He is likely to bat at number four. The match has already begun and Deepak Chahar picked up the first wicket for Chennai Super Kings, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal caught and bowled. 

Rajasthan used a surprising opening pair of Jaiswal and Smith in this match. They do not have the services of their star overseas players Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. Hence, RR has also included Tom Curran in the playing XI. CSK are the favorites to win, but the fans should not rule the possibility of an RR win because they have got a strong lineup as well. It will be interesting to see if RR can beat CSK in Sharjah.
