Sakshi Dhoni posts a heart-touching message for CSK fans after playoff hopes ended

2020 has been a heartbreaking year for MS Dhoni fans. The former Indian cricket team captain first announced his retirement from international cricket on 15th August, and then, he looked like a shadow of his former self in IPL 2020. 

Known for finishing off matches in style, Dhoni has not been at his best this year for the Chennai Super Kings. Unfortunately, even the other players of the team also failed to back him up, as the Super Kings became the first franchise to get knocked out from IPL 2020 in the UAE. 

It is noteworthy that before 2020, the 3-time IPL Champions had made it to the Top 4 in every season that they played. It seems like the law of averages finally came into play here. Still, the loyal CSK fans are supporting their team, and MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni penned a heart-touching poem for the Men in Yellow.

She shared the poem on her social media accounts. The gist of her writing was that her husband’s team was full of warriors who won some matches and who lost matches. Sakshi added that the fans were overjoyed when their team won. At that same time, the defeats were heartbreaking for them. 

“It's just a game! Many preachers and varied reactions! Allow emotions not to beat the very essence of sportsmanship,” she continued.

Lastly, Sakshi pointed out it was a game of cricket, where not every team can win. She expected the Super Kings to bounce back in style next year. 

“You were winners then, you are winners now! True warriors are born to fight as they will always be Super Kings in our hearts and in our minds,” she signed off.

The Chennai Super Kings still have two matches left in IPL 2020. They will battle the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Kings XI Punjab in their last two fixtures of the season.
