Schedule announced for the upcoming CPL 2020
While the global pandemic novel coronavirus has brought the entire world into a standstill for the last few months, everyone is constantly trying their best to not get affected. Even the sports have returned in a few places with time including cricket with the Test between England and West Indies. Although the International Cricket Council (ICC) has postponed the men's T20 World Cup in Australia this year, the BCCI has decided to host the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE from September 19.
Along with these, Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 will also take place from mid-August which was also postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. This year’s CPL is going to be huge as it might the first big tournament after COVID-19 pandemic which will begin from August 18 and the finals will be played on September 10.
WICB has been announced the full schedule of CPL 2020 recently while the first match of it will take place between Trinbago Knight Riders versus Guyana Amazon Warriors.
“This year will be a different CPL, but the standard will be higher than ever. We have seen the appetite for live sport since it has returned after a prolonged absence, and the interest in CPL will be higher than ever with it being the first franchise T20 tournament to return,” shared CPL’s CEO Damien O’Donohoe.
