Suniel Shetty feels this Indian cricketer needs to shed 4-5 kg soon

Famous Bollywood actor, Suniel Shetty recently talked about the possibilities of cricket happening in the near future and what combination the Indian team should have if the T20 World Cup happens in 2020. In his view, the selectors should pick MS Dhoni in the team irrespective of how he performs in the IPL.

He said that Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul should open the innings for the team and then the duo of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer should back them up at number three and number four. Further talking about the wicket-keeping dilemma, he continued:
“Between Pant and Samson, I see MS Dhoni and only MS Dhoni for the World Cup. I feel he is getting fit out there and he will be back in a very very big way. Players from across the world feel that if Dhoni is there, it’s a strong team. Dhoni will play, he will score in the IPL.”

When asked about how Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson could improve their performances at this level, the father of Athiya Shetty revealed:
“Pant and Samson are very talented. Samson hasn’t got his chances. Pant is supremely talented but he needs to lose 4-5 kg of weight. It’s a positive thing I mean to say, but as far as wellness and fitness goes, there’s a difference in movement.”

Thus, in this way, Shetty hinted that Pant needs to shed 4-5 kgs of his skin so that he can come in proper shape. Unfortunately, although the Delhi-based keeper has a perfect amount of time now, he might not be able to focus on his training because of the nationwide lockdown. He is currently quarantined at home.

Talking about Pant, the left-handed batsman has shown that even though he is not so fit as Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, he can do the same things like them. He can even smash bigger shots than them while Pant is also a good runner between the wickets.

It will be interesting to see if Pant listens to the advice of Shetty because if he works on his weight, he can definitely improve all the aspects of the game. Also, he can give all the other contenders in the race to the wicket-keeping spot a run for their money because a good fitness level may help him in cementing his spot.
