Suryakumar Yadav's wife shares heart-touching message after his match-winning knock against RCB

The most successful franchise of the Indian Premier League - Mumbai Indians have several match-winners and Suryakumar Yadav is definitely one of them. Ever since he joined the franchise, he has been proving his worth every now and then and has also become a vital cog of the side.

He once again showed his class during the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard led the team. With Rohit’s absence, the onus was on Yadav too to contribute much with the bat. Kieron Pollard chose to field after winning the toss and also kept the same team that played against Rajasthan Royals.

In the absence of Aaron Finch, Josh Phillipe opened RCB’s innings with Devdutt Padikkal. They added 71 runs before the former got out by Rahul Chahar. The 20-year-old Padikkal, however, played a crucial role while wickets fell around him.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers got out very cheaply in the middle overs. However, after posting 88 for 1 inside the first 10 overs, RCB failed to keep up the pace in the second half of the innings. Apart from Padikkal, who scored his fourth IPL half-century, others failed miserably in front of a tight spell of Bumrah. Bumrah’s spell of 3-14 restricted Bangalore to 164 for 6 after 20 overs.

While defending, Bangalore made sure Mumbai openers couldn’t free their arms with a strong bowling display in the powerplay. They used Washington Sundar who bowled the two-left handed batsmen - Ishan Kishan (25) and de Kock (18). While the openers failed to provide a flying start, other batsmen like Saurabh Tiwary and Krunal Pandya also failed to contribute.

However, it was Suryakumar Yadav, who despite has been in a swashbuckling form in the ongoing IPL 2020 and still being unnoticed by the selectors to get his maiden call up, came in the middle and steadied the ship once again. He took on the bowling attack of Dale Steyn and Mohammed Siraj and brought up his quickfire half-century as well.

Yadav smacked his highest score in the league - 79 and he remained unbeaten to take the team home convincingly in the final over that too with five balls to spare.

After the knock, he received plenty of praises from all over the world which also included his wife – Devisha Shetty. She shared a heartfelt message on social media which certainly won many hearts. She posted with the caption, “Dream big, work hard, stay positive and enjoy the journey! Here to stay"

Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad next on October 31 and November 3 respectively.
