The Indian cricket team’s new captain for the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the South African cricket team KL Rahul has stated that he will bring all the experience that he got from playing under MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to the fore on his ODI captaincy debut.
The first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series between the Indian cricket team and the South African cricket team is currently underway at the Boland Park in Paarl. The South African cricket team is batting first and they have gotten off to a decent start.
Ahead of the first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series between the Indian cricket team and the South African cricket team, new skipper KL Rahul addressed a press conference.
During that interaction, he spoke about how he has learned from former Indian cricket team captains MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Here’s what Rahul had to say:
"I have played under great captains like MS and Virat, so there's so much I've learned from them. I can use all that when I captain more games for my country and I am human. I will make mistakes along the way but I will learn and get better.”
KL Rahul captained the Indian cricket team in the 2nd Test against South Africa
While many fans thought that Rahul would make his captaincy debut in the ODI series against South Africa, he already got a chance to lead the team in the ICC World Test Championship series against the Proteas.
Regular captain Virat Kohli had picked up an injury just before the 2nd match of the series. Because of that, Rahul had to lead the team. Unfortunately, the team lost the match on Rahul’s Test captaincy debut. But they will be keen to win the ODI series.
