Watch: Australian bowlers attack Cheteshwar Pujara with fiery deliveries

The Indian cricket team’s lengthy 2020-21 Australian tour will end on January 19, with a nail-biting Day 5 at The Gabba in Brisbane. The Indian cricket team has an opportunity to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. While even a draw will help the visitors retain the trophy, they have batted well enough to reach close to a historic victory. 

Australia has struggled in red-ball matches against India. Although there have not been too many injuries in their camp, a depleted Indian squad has mauled them in the three red-ball matches. Just one bad session in Adelaide gave the home side a 1-0 lead in the day-night Test match. 

Cheteshwar Pujara has been a hero for the Indian cricket team in this series. His defensive skills have frustrated the Aussies. His defense helped the Indian cricket team draw the Sydney Test match despite conceding a first-innings lead. 

Many fans consider Pujara as the 2.0 version of The Wall. Just like the bowlers started to attack Rahul Dravid’s body when he went on a defensive streak, the Aussies did the same in the Brisbane Test and bowled on Cheteshwar Pujara’s body to break his concentration. 

However, that trick did not work as Pujara further frustrated them and batted like a warrior despite being hurt multiple times. He scored 56 runs off 211 deliveries and held one end for the visitors. The Indian cricket team is on the verge of a historic win at The Gabba. No team has been able to beat Australia at this venue in the last 32 years. Even India has not won a single Test in Brisbane. It will be interesting to see if they could create history.
